2-Hour Thursday Workshop with Susy Ward
 
Spend two focused hours in G10, Susy’s light and welcoming ground floor studio at Krowji in Redruth, Cornwall. Learn hands-on techniques with an instinctive maker who loves to share her craft and keeps things joyful, friendly and practical.
 
What you will do
 
Try wheel throwing and simple hand-building, guided step by step
Explore form and balance while keeping the clay’s natural character
Learn how glazes work and choose finishes that are food safe and functional

Complete beginners who want a confident first experience
Improvers who would like focused tips to refine technique
Small groups, pairs, or solo makers looking for creative time together
 
Materials and tools
 
Stoneware clay suited to both throwing and hand-building
Studio tools, bats and aprons provided
Tried and tested glazes that can be personalised
 
What you take away
 
One or two finished pieces depending on pace and method
Susy will trim, glaze and fire your work after the session
Collection from the studio arranged, or UK postage available at cost

Duration: 2 hours, Thursdays only
Location: Studio G10, Krowji, West Park, Redruth TR15 3GE
Accessibility: Double doors and ground floor access for easier entry
Group size: Kept small (ideally a maximum of 3) for plenty of one-to-one guidance
Age guidance: 14 plus. Under 18s must attend with a paying adult
Clothing: Wear something you do not mind getting a little clay on. Short nails help on the wheel
Firing and glazing: Included for one piece per person. Extra items can be finished for a small fee
