Meet Susy Ward at Stithians Show
Susy Ward Ceramics is delighted to be part of this year’s Stithians Show; Cornwall’s largest one-day agricultural show. As a studio potter based in Redruth, Susy brings a joyful, grounded energy to her work that resonates with both collectors and casual visitors alike. Her presence at the show is a celebration of creativity, craftsmanship and community spirit.
At her stand, visitors will find a thoughtfully curated selection of handmade stoneware - from sculptural forms and expressive centrepieces to durable tableware designed for everyday use. Every piece is made using local clay from St Agnes and finished in glazes developed and refined over years of studio testing. Expect to see earthy tones, ocean blues, and soft neutrals, all designed to enhance the form and function of each object.
Susy’s approach is instinctive and spontaneous, often led by the clay itself. Her passion for glaze chemistry and form allows her to push boundaries while ensuring each item remains practical and durable. This balance of design and usability makes her work distinct and widely admired.
