Night Sky Studio Glaze Mug

This handcrafted mug is wheel thrown in stoneware and finished with a deep studio glaze inspired by night skies and shifting horizons. Layers of inky blue and soft violet tones are scattered with fine golden speckles, creating a surface that feels expansive and atmospheric.

A gentle band of lighter glaze moves around the mug, grounding the composition and adding contrast to the darker upper tones. The glaze reacts uniquely in the kiln, resulting in subtle variations in colour, depth and speckling that ensure each mug is one of a kind.

The rounded form and comfortable handle make this mug ideal for everyday use, whether for morning coffee or evening tea. Both tactile and expressive, it is designed to feel as good in the hand as it looks on the table.

Made in small batches by Susy Ward at her Krowji studio in Redruth, this mug reflects a love of surface, process and the quiet influence of landscape and sky.
