Hand Painted Blue Spot Vessel

This hand painted vessel is wheel thrown in stoneware and finished with a soft, creamy glaze, decorated with individually painted blue spots. Each mark is applied by hand, giving the surface a gentle rhythm and ensuring that no two pieces are ever the same.
 
The form tapers subtly towards the rim, sitting comfortably in the hand and lending itself to a variety of uses. Designed to be both functional and decorative, it works beautifully as a drinking vessel, small vase or pen pot, bringing quiet character to everyday spaces.
 
Natural variations in glaze tone, brushwork and shape are part of the making process and celebrate the handmade nature of the piece. Created in small batches by Susy Ward at her Krowji studio in Redruth, this vessel reflects a love of material, simplicity and thoughtful craftsmanship.
