Hand Painted Blue Flower Vessel

This hand painted vessel is wheel thrown in stoneware and finished with a soft, creamy glaze, decorated with expressive blue floral motifs. Each flower is painted freely by hand, allowing the brushwork to remain visible and giving the surface a sense of movement and spontaneity.
 
The glaze settles gently around the painted forms, creating subtle variations in tone and depth that are unique to each piece. Slight differences in brushstroke, placement and colour intensity are part of the making process and celebrate the individuality of the vessel.
 
Designed to be both functional and decorative, this piece works beautifully as a drinking vessel, small vase or decorative object. Its gently curved form sits comfortably in the hand, while the floral decoration brings a bold yet understated presence to everyday spaces.
 
Created in small batches by Susy Ward at her Krowji studio in Redruth, this vessel reflects a love of material, surface and thoughtful craftsmanship.
