Green Wave Studio Glaze Mug

This handcrafted mug is wheel thrown in stoneware and finished with a layered studio glaze inspired by shifting coastal landscapes. Soft green and blue tones move across the surface in a gentle wave, breaking into the warm, earthy clay body beneath.
 
The glaze flows and settles naturally during firing, creating subtle variations in colour, texture and depth. Each mug emerges with its own unique surface, recording the movement of the wheel and the atmosphere of the kiln.
 
The rounded form and comfortable handle make this mug ideal for everyday use, from morning coffee to slow afternoon tea. Both practical and expressive, it brings a quiet sense of landscape and process to daily rituals.
 
Made in small batches by Susy Ward at her Krowji studio in Redruth, this mug reflects a love of material, surface and understated design.
