Blue Wave Studio Glaze Mug

This handcrafted mug is wheel thrown in stoneware and finished with a layered studio glaze that moves organically across the surface. Deep blue tones break through a speckled, textured glaze, meeting warm, earthy clay beneath to create a surface reminiscent of waves meeting shoreline.
 
The glaze settles and reacts differently with each firing, producing subtle variations in colour, depth and texture. Flecks and mottling within the glaze add visual interest, while the natural clay body remains visible, grounding the piece in its material origins.
 
The gently rounded form and comfortable handle make this mug ideal for everyday use. Designed to feel good in the hand as well as on the table, it works beautifully for coffee, tea or slow moments throughout the day.
 
Made in small batches by Susy Ward at her Krowji studio in Redruth, this mug reflects a love of process, surface and the quiet influence of the Cornish landscape.
